If you want to travel elsewhere, you can always hire a car by the day as required.

If you are staying in the Albufeira outskirts so you will need to find some way to get around.

The Giro

The local bus network is called Giro. It covers all the city, with five different routes, identified by different colours.

The local GIRO bus network connects the Bus Terminal, the old town and other districts of Albufeira, including the train station. Buses on these routes run every half-hour, seven days a week.

There are five lines, red 1, red 2, blue, green and orange, all of which start from and return to the bus station, with over 100 stops.

The buses run east as far as the top and bottom of the strip, to the west as far as the new marina, and to the north as far the Ferreiras Train Station.
