Nightlife
There are two main features in Albufeira.
One is the beauty of its beaches, and the other is its nightlife. Take a stroll down the strip or downtown, have a dinner in one of the many restaurants in the area, or dance all night in its discos and bars.
Nightlife in Albufeira is well known in the Algarve. Albufeira is one of the main touristic destinations in Portugal. Here you will find bars and restaurants, pubs and many discos that are open until the morning hours.
The main nightlife areas are the Old Town and The Strip.

Old Town
The key attraction of the old town is the main square and the fishermen’s square, which is where you will find many of the bars and restaurants.
There are some good restaurants in the old town, the focus tending towards more traditional Portuguese seafood. In the summer, the squares come alive in the evenings, with live entertainment, music and partygoers.
Away from the main square are winding, narrow cobbled streets, awash with cafes, restaurants and market stalls and little shops selling local crafts and gifts. Many of these streets are pedestrianized and can be quite narrow and unsuitable for cars.

The Strip
The area, three kilometres west of Albufeira Old Town, is an area known as The Strip.
It is modern and has a completely different atmosphere from the Old Town.
It is very busy in the high season, and you will find many shops, restaurants and bars. Nightlife is very lively here, with bars staying open late into the night, pounding out music.
